Newsletter ATPlus 01.12.14

Dear Parents

I would like to update you with some recent developments at AT Plus.

First of all, I am pleased to welcome Natasha Roger who has recently started as the new administrator. Laura Smith, our previous administrator, was given a unique opportunity to train as solicitor and could not miss this chance, though she said she would miss all the families she has been assisting in these past months. We wish Laura all the best in her future career, I am certain she will do very well in her training and profession. Natasha has a very interesting background, receiving training in Human Resources Management with rich and varied experiences. She has already contributed very well proposing new organisational developments which will assist further the support we provide to families more. To read more about Natasha click here. All administrative queries, such as bookings and questions on reporting should be made in first instance directly to Natasha who can be contacted here: n.roger@autismtreatment.org.uk.

The second development is with regard to the setting up of a new company called Lauriston Laboratories. Lauriston Labs as we call it in short will initially focus on facilitating access to supplements and lab tests, directly linking to laboratories in the UK, USA, Belgium and France. We will carry out a range of supplements developed specifically for autism and which are difficult to access in the UK, for example Brain Child Nutritionals and Researched Nutritionals.

We are currently building a new website to allow online ordering and in the future will be progressively increasing the range of supplements we provide. We have further ideas of research and development with regard to diagnostic and therapeutic tools. I will keep you updated with the progress. I anticipate the website will be completed by the end of the year. On a side note, Caudwell funded families will continue to be invoiced through ATPlus to simplify the payment process, so this new development will not affect families payments made for families. All other families requiring supplements and lab tests will be invoiced by Lauriston Laboratories.

Lauriston Laboratories is employing a part time supplement assistant, Alison Grubb, who will assist with the ordering and dispatching. Alison has already started and has helped in streamlining the orders placed. I am very excited by the input Alison is providing, welcome Alison! To read more about her click here. To contact Alison directly to order supplements or lab tests, please e-mail her at: a.grubb@autismtreatment.org.uk.

Finally, last month saw the release of a new book co-authored by Dr Corinne Skorupka and myself with a preface from Prof Luc Montagnier, Nobel Prize winner of Medicine 2008. It is Titled “Autism, On Peut en Guerir,” (Autism can be treated) and as you can guess it is in French. It is the first time a book covering not only the biomedical but also educational interventions in autism has been published in France. I recently met some French parents at the Treating Autism conference who acclaimed the book as being revolutionary for parents in France; there is so little in terms of help for them. Dr Skorupka has been interviewed for several weeks in a row already and requests have been made for a translation to English.

Wishing you the best for December

Cheers

Dr.Lorene Amet, D. Phil M.Ed (Autism)
