Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Function (BRIEF)
BRIEF is a standardised rating scale designed to measure the executive function in children and adults, based on assessment of behaviours directly related to executive capabilities such as: inhibition, emotional control, planning and organisation skills, shifting abilities and working and memory. It also comprises two validity scales assessing consistency and negativity.
BRIEF can assist in intervention recommendations (educational, rehabilitative, and therapeutic); IEP goals and objectives; and an optional ADHD diagnostic classification.
The assessment comprises 63 items and can be completed in 15 minutes.

Users recognised in graduate training programme in psychology, psychiatry, paediatrics, nursing, speech therapy or similar, currently employed in that capacity either as a clinician, part of a clinical team or part of a research team. Qualifications and employment information must be provided on the course application form.
