AT+ helps addressing issues with eating, sleeping, transitions, toilet training, following instructions, sensory needs, and communication.
AT+ recognises that teaching key skills to a young child with autism, such as toilet training, getting dressed and following instructions, can pose a number of challenges for parents.
Our Parent Outreach Programme provides parents of children and young people with support to help teach your child the following:
- Academic skills
- Language and Communication skills
- Play skills
- Toilet training
- School readiness skills
- Self help skills
- Social Skills
The Parent Outreach Programme also provides you with support and advice to help address common issues such as:
- Difficulty accepting no
- Difficulty with transitions, new environments and change in routine
- Fussy eating
- Poor sleeping patterns
Working closely with both you and your child, we develop a tailored behaviour plan teaching you the skills and techniques you need to reduce problem behaviours, replacing it with functionally equivalent socially appropriate behaviours, and also teach you how to actively engage your child in learning a range of skills. Your child will become a successful learner and enjoy learning with an approach specific to their needs.
The Parent Outreach Programme is available to parents, siblings, extended family and other caregivers to ensure the whole family can interact with your child in an effective and positive way.
